Sophie Wells
Team
There are so many people that have helped me and influenced my life and career so far, and I want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me! My family, friends, boyfriend, and even my school teachers and university lecturers who helped me study and compete at the same time!
Mervyn and Nicola Wells - Parents
My parents have supported me from the beginning, they gave me lots of opportunities when I was younger to find something I was good at and when they found that I was so keen to learn to ride, they supported my ambitions to be the best in the world.
Dr Neil and Dr Jackie Walker - Owners
Jackie and Neil have been so supportive, and I am incredibly grateful and honoured for them allowing me to ride their horse, Noki. They have travelled around the world to watch and support us competing.

Angela Weiss - Coach
I started training with Angela near the end of 2004. She has been a massive support to me in my training and has helped me to develop as a rider to where I am today. As well as the training, Angela has helped me through my teenage years to learn how to cope with all the other aspects of training and competing, from pressure to nerves etc. Angela has taught me to be independent in my riding as well as teaching me all about stable management, yard management and every other aspect to training, competing and horses! I helped Angela keep her horses going when she had her terrible accident in 2008, breaking her leg in three places, and I have been based there on and off since 2010. I'm very lucky to have a second family there! Angela is the Squad Coach to the World Class Development and Excel Squads, an international Grand Prix rider and the Director of Para Dressage for British Dressage. She has taken a key role in the development of Para dressage in Great Britain from both sides, and as if all this wasn't enough, she also runs a training and livery yard between Nottingham and Mansfield, Papplewick Equestrian Centre.
Teresa Dixon - Biomechanics Coach and Massage Therapist
Because I have a disability my body compensates for weaker areas, my nerves get affected which is also a weakness, so it’s really important to make sure I’m properly aligned so everything can move correctly and as it should.

Rachel Sainsbury - Equine Nutritionist
Rachel has looked after my horses for nearly two years now. She keeps an eye on each horse's weight, and fat scores every month. We keep in touch if there are any problems with their eating habits etc. and it's great to have someone on the end of the phone!
Mark Connole - Farrier
Mark has shod my horses since I began, and has been a great support travelling to whereever my horses are based at the time!
Home Farm Equine (Matthew Barlow) - Vet
Maxine Poole - Equine Physiotherapist
Mark Fisher - Saddler
Tom Phillips - Equine Dentist
Cobbs Country Store - Feed Merchant
Freestyle to Music Producer - Ken Barnsley RIP and Geoff Kroll
Paul Goldacre - Mechanic
Retford Saddlery - Tack Shop
